LEAD TIMES

Are based on time to invoice, time to wait for payment to be received and time to make and ship orders.

Due to the structure of my sustainable business, I make most stock as needed. Therefore, some items are ready to go, but others are made to order. This can sometimes affect lead times. Read more about my sustainable practices below.

I will let you know if there are any significant delays that might occur from supply chain issues or illness.

Please let me know if you have a deadline for your order to arrive and I can advise if it will be possible or not.

CANCELATIONS

If you need to cancel or change your order, please do so in writing as soon as possible. Depending on the circumstances, you may be unable to cancel your order, or you may be able to cancel only a portion of it. If your order required more work than usual to set up, an admin fee may be charged.

Custom made orders can’t be cancelled once work and production has begun. In rare circumstances, you may be able to claim a portion of your payment back, less the percentage of work completed.

DAMAGES AND DEFECTS

Please inspect all shipments immediately upon arrival. Please contact info@monicamcnab.com within 3 days business days of receipt of damaged goods or defective items. Returns will be replaced with new merchandise, if possible. If Items were custom made and can’t be remade again then a refund may be issued.

LOCATION EXCLUSIVITY

I try to keep my product exclusive to the best of my ability. I generally will prioritise exclusivity, but only at my discretion or with prior written agreement.

Example of circumstances that may influence my decision: To maintain exclusivity, your store must perform well with my product totalling at least $1500 in total orders per year, be an excellent store fit, have an optimal store location, and have consistent payments. If any of these conditions are not met, I reserve the right to wholesale to other stockists in your area without prior notice. Written agreements or contracts will be subject to the agreed terms.

SUSTAINABLE FACTS

Monica’s products aim to show that sustainability can be beautiful and desirable. Everything is designed with the intention of valuing sustainability and reducing carbon footprints.

Things that are going on behind the scenes to help with sustainability;

-       Creating products from paper, which is a renewable and natural resource. Furthermore, trees absorb CO2 from the atmosphere as they grow, and wood products retain carbon throughout their lifetime;

-       Choosing natural recycled paper or FSC-certified papers, not bleached or coated, making them better for biodegrading once discarded or sent for recycling;

-       Printing on demand with small runs reduces waste and dead stock;

-     My Studio is powered with solar

-       Paper sizes are standardised to reduce off-cut waste;

-       A minimal illustration style, using the natural paper as a background, saves precious mineral resources.

-       Products, if packaged, are packaged in biodegradable cellophane (sorry not compostable yet);

-       Sourcing supplies locally; reducing the use of fossil fuels in transportation;

-       Printers use soy based dye or recyclable ink cartridges;

-       High quality ink is used, ensuring that the product will last for many years and reducing throw-away culture;

-       Package materials are recycled in-house, reducing landfill;

-       Products are sold in do-it-yourself flat packs whenever possible, reducing packaging and inducing the IKEA effect. The IKEA effect is a cognitive bias in which consumers place a vastly higher value on products that they helped to create. A stronger sense of pride and emotional attachment is formed, the result is a better likelihood that items are cherished and not throw away so quickly.

Ethical business practise;

Using FSC certified papers means that the forests are responsibly managed, with a focus on conserving natural habitats for plants and animals as well as respecting the rights of forestry workers and local communities. Products are manufactured in Australia, where strict regulations govern proper pay rates and working conditions are safer due to high health and safety standards.

If you have any suggestions on how to be more environmentally friendly or if you have any questions please contact me.
